let me introduce you to my little friend...

and when i say friend i mean son. i went to wales yesterday to see my little boy, joshua river brown. i thought i'd take the opportunity to find out what his favourite song was at the moment and figured i'd post about it. this may seem like a risky idea as he's five and most five year olds probably listen to nothing but bob the builder and anything with a video that's got cartoons in it (actually, this is true - josh loves gorillaz too).

it wasn't a worry for me though. last year i asked him who his three favourite bands were. his answers wear awesome. awesome. first up was robots in disguise. this surprised me a little bit as i don't tend to go on about them a lot, but it turns out that it was because i'd had them on in my car a lot at one point. that combined with the name had contributed to the love.

his next favourite? little man tate. i often call him little big man and when he'd heard the song he'd put two and two together and asked me who they were. he may not have known any of their other tracks, but as soon as he said that i'd taken it as red that they were in the list.

okay, so the third band were sugababes, but come on - he was only three or four at the time! and in defence of the little fella overload is a top pop track. it was way before his time and he'd probably never heard it before, but still...

so when i asked him yesterday what his favourite song at the moment was i was quietly confident. he wasn't sure though. he couldn't think of any that stood out. that was until a certain dizzee rascal came on the radio. the rest of the day was spent walking around the national showcaves of wales with josh singing "some people think i'm bonkers, but i just think i'm freeeeee!" at every opportunity. once again, josh delivered.
